On Sham el Nessim 2010, Egypt’s First Spring Water Sports Expo came to an exciting finale after two consecutive weekends of great water sports activities.

The Aquativities team delivered a water sports show of the highest caliber and with variety of water sports activities that play perfectly in the Red Sea of Egypt.

Attendees had an opportunity to try the thrilling sports of kitesurfing and sailing when the wind was strong. When the winds calmed, the sea kayaks offered a pleasurable float on the beautiful turquoise waters of the Red Sea.

The Aquativities planning team team (Distribution Red Sea, Dome Marina Resort, Dome Marina Sailing Centre, International Yacht Training, Egypt, and Red Sea Images) is already gearing up for Egypt’s Second Spring Water Sports Expo to be held in March 2011.

April 2, 2010. Day One kickoff for the second weekend of Egypt’s Spring Water Sports Expo. The wind and weather were exceptionally calm. We enjoyed the leisurely sailing. Our friends from the Nile Sailing Academy brought a Nile Class sail boat to our patch of the Red Sea. It was excellent to see this beautiful boat sailing here.

Last weekend was filled with exciting demonstrations and fun in the sun. Egypt’s first Spring Water Sports Expo was a crowd-pleasing success. The wind cooperated to give kitesurfers, windsurfers and sailors the ultimate sporting experience. The beach-side crowd was held spellbound as Yann from Fun-Kite, Safaga, entertained us with jumps, twists and turns as he kitesurfed the beautiful turquoise waters of Marina Wadi el Dome. Sherifa Ashraf, Egypt’s three times National Sailing Champion buzzed the waters with speed and agility in a Pico Laser, Topper Topaz, and the Topper Magno.

Expo vendors had plenty of water sports equipment to choose for all day entertainment. Visitors were excited to be able to try their turn with sea kayaks, several types of sailing boats and small catamarans. In no time, it was the participants that ruled the waters and entertained us with their spills and successes. Spectators enjoyed beachside seats, sipped cool drinks and exchanged stories.

As the khamasin weather persists to heat us up and then chill us down, many of the show visitors were excited to find a variety of neoprene wetsuits, tops and bottoms. Distribution Red Sea brought their collection of water sports clothing and accessaries that are designed for water sporting.

As we build up synergy for the second weekend of the Spring Water Sports Expo, vendors and sponsors of the Expo continue to prepare for another round of great water sports activities.

The event is April 2 to April 5 from 10 am to 4 pm.

Entrance to the Expo is 30 LE per person. Everyone is welcome. We have activities and entertainment for the whole family.

Calm wind. Calm sea. Another full day of fun!

The winds were much calmer on the final day of our first weekend of the Spring Water Sports Expo 2010.

Lackluster wind didn’t mean lackluster fun. The relaxed weather dovetailed to relaxed water sport activities. Sea kayaks from Distribution Red Sea and sailing lessons were the highlights of the day.

Beginners got to take advantage of getting their balance on surf boards and sailboats. Young prospective sailors took their first sailing lessons on the DMSC Optimist sailing boats.

Vision Trading brought a whole lotta sea kayaks. This looks like a lot of fun!

We’re quickly approaching the first weekend of Egypt’s Water Sports Expo. Our vendors are preparing their exhibits. We have been told they have some wonderful visitor gifts.

The weather has been fantastic these last few days. We’re getting a break from the extreme heat that we had last week. Crazy that our spring temperatures could hover up to 40 degrees!
